Ozone therapy is the use of Medical Ozone as a biological medicine, suitable and safe to be applied in numerous diseases, all of them in relation to cellular damage due to excess free radicals (oxidative stress). Ozone acts as a true cellular “garbage can”, cleaning free radicals.

What are the therapeutic effects of ozone therapy?

  1. STIMULATION OF THE CIRCULATION OF THE BLOOD. Ozone cures because it improves metabolism. On the one hand, blood circulation improves in the affected tissues. On the other hand, the transport of oxygen, and therefore the supply of energy to the inflamed areas, is improved. The successive applications of medical ozone at a general level (systemic) result in a significant increase in the supply of oxygen in all the cells of the body, which implies, broadly speaking, an improvement in the cellular capacity to repair itself, substantially decreasing cellular damage. due to lack of oxygenation, regardless of the underlying disease.

  3. GENERAL GERMICIDAL ACTIVITY: Medical ozone also acts as an anti-infective, with powerful fungicidal, bactericidal, and virucidal properties.
  4. STIMULATION OF ENZYMATIC DEFENSES: Different scientific works have shown that ozone stimulates the production of the three enzymes that make up the body’s main defense against free radicals: superoxide dismutase, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase. Thus, the ozone would act by cleaning cellular debris that accumulates throughout life by neutralizing free radicals. According to this concept, preventive ozone therapy would have a “cellular anti-aging effect”, since the current concept of aging is based on the accumulation of radicals at the intracellular level (oxidative stress). These conclusions may have an important practical implication, since chronic viral infections, cancer, autoimmune deficiencies, and neurodegenerative disorders are accompanied by a pro-oxidant state with a progressive deterioration of intracellular detoxification.   5. REGENERATION OF TISSUES: Ozone has been shown to have a stimulating effect on the reticuloendothelial system, being able to repair and recover the inner wall of small blood vessels, achieving a high degree of efficiency in the recovery of ulcers in diabetic patients. It has also shown a beneficial effect on nitric oxide, crucial in maintaining capillary dilation and blood flow at optimal levels, improving the symptoms of patients with venous or arterial insufficiency.
  6. METABOLIC REGULATOR: Different studies have shown the regulatory action of ozone on cholesterol, triglycerides, creatinine, uric acid, and glucose in the blood, decreasing the values when they are high and stabilizing the values at optimal levels. There is clinical evidence that validates ozone therapy as a treatment that improves the quality of life of patients with diabetes, to the extent that some insulin-dependent people have been able to reduce their insulin dose by 30 to 50%, due to the ability of ozone to enhance cell glycolysis (use of sugar).
